Küchelmann, Hans Christian (2019): Middle Bronze to Early Iron Age Bone Tools from Eastern Germany. – Zooarchaeology 3, 21-28, pl. 9-11
Abstract
A group of five bone artefacts from the Middle Bronze to Early Iron Age settlement site of Kemnitz near Berlin is presented. The artefacts are simple objects but were obtained from at least three animal species. Manufacturing traces and use wear are described and possible interpretations were tested with experiments. One object allowing further considerations is a bone spearhead, which is discussed in context with comparative finds.
