[Inundation? Report about several complete and partially preserved animal skeletons from the vicinity of the terp mounds at the Neuenlander Straße in Bremen]
Abstract
Numerous skeletons and partial skeletons of domestic animals have been recovered in the vicinity of two medieval to early modern terp mounds at the Neuenlander Straße in Bremen. They belonged mainly to horses and cattle. The report highlights the different modes of deposition of the animals, which provide evidence for the genesis of the site. Furthermore, the skeletons gave numerous osteometric data. Also, several pathologic conditions could recorded, some of which are exceptional.
