Abstract
This published presentation at a forensic science symposium for tool traces is concerned with the specific characteristics of tool marks on bones. Following an introduction into the anatomy of bones and into the history of taphonomic research on traces on bones, the properties of impacts of different tools on bones are demonstrated. Finally, the analysis of tool marks in a murder case is presented.
