[The slightly different Guard Rail. Whale Jaws as Street Boundary in Oberneuland]
Abstract
17th to 19th century whale ships regularly brought whale jaws back to their harbours. These were employed for various purposes, among these boundary posts rails along roads. Relics of such boundary posts have been recovered in Bremen-Oberneuland in 2021.
